Revainrating 4 out of 5

Hardwiring is the way to go.

So I only installed it for a week. Whether it moves from four stars to five depends on how well it handles the battery drain issue. If it powers the park monitor without draining my battery too much, I'll bump it up to five. Otherwise it seems to be well made. It gets three stars for ease of installation, simply because a wired connection is more difficult than simply plugging in a cigarette lighter adapter. But it has nothing to do with the kit. There are two problems that I think the manufacturer could solve. 1. Power and ground wires are damn thin. It would be nice if they were a bit more substantial. 2. Somewhat embarrassingly, the fuses are not interchangeable. I don't think they expect them to ever explode. But it's easy to fix. I just replaced the Add-a-Fuse connector. That fixed everything. They include an invaluable little "hero" plastic tool for threading wires through the headliner etc. So that's a good thing. Buy it if you are familiar with wiring. So far no problems with battery discharge, ie.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Obsolete model
