This thermometer's build quality feels solid, and the laser pointer that illuminates what it's pointing at is a nice touch. The thermometer is easy to use and automatically takes the temperature reading when you release the trigger. It also tells you the maximum temperature it observed when you pulled the trigger. Switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius was easy if you followed the instructions in the manual. about 150 degrees Fahrenheit and it worked great for everyone, with measurements that appear to be correct. However, the lower limit of the specified temperature range does not appear to be accurate at all. According to this thermometer, the food in my fridge is about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Apparently not because my fridge isn't frozen. Items in the freezer registered approximately -15 to -20 Fahrenheit. While these items are indeed frozen, I highly doubt they are -15 F. I removed the asterisk for the lower end of the specified temperature range.
