Review on 🌬️ Vornado OSCR37 AE Oscillating Tower Fan: Alexa-Compatible, Whole Room Air Circulator in Black - Certified for Humans! by Jillian Sparks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good airflow, sucks away, fairly quiet at top speed

OSCR37 was purchased after returning the Vornado 184 (this fan had a hiss that literally hurt my ears). For a fan of this size it has a very good airflow. Even with the fan speed set to 1, a nice breeze could be felt from 10 feet away. It's not loud at fan speed 4, but a hum can be heard in the 3kHz and 4kHz range. It's noticeable, but not that painful. The blood circulation claims appear to be true. The fan was set to oscillate and then stopped, surprisingly the stationary (circulating) actually felt cooler. Fan noise isn't bad (measured at 10 feet): Fan 1 - 50dB, Fan 2 - 53dB, Fan 3 - 56dB, Fan 4 - 60dB. sensitive to high-pitched sounds, this fan is fine (measured at a distance of 10 feet): Fan 1 - little changed at high frequencies Fan 2 - 1kHz and 2kHz starts to increase. Most changes affected the frequency range from 1 kHz to 1.5 kHz. 3 - frequency increase from 1 kHz to 4 kHz. The range from 3 kHz to 4 kHz is small compared to the frequency range from 1 kHz to 2 kHz. 4. Surprisingly, there is almost no dB increase at high frequencies. That said, if people want to use a white noise fan, that's a very good thing. At its highest speed it was less tight than 184, translating the tone to lower frequencies. The board is terrible. The buttons are good, but the IR range is terrible. In order for the fan to recognize a button press, the remote control must be pointed at the top of the fan (where the IR sensor is located). With vibrations, the movement is very smooth. I noticed that the dwell time on the left side (2 seconds) was shorter than on the right side (3 seconds) in most cases. All in all, this is a good fan. If Vornado could reduce the treble offset from 3kHz to 4kHz that would be better. Check out all the attached graphs of how the fan sounds.
