Review on ๐Ÿ‘ Genuine Leather Minimalist Billfold Wallet for Men - Essential in Wallets, Card Cases & Money Organizers by Kevin Hernandez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Two weeks later I'm still impressed by how thin it is

First things first: the thing is thin. Seriously skinny. Impressively thin. The violation of the laws of the physical universe is subtle. (Okay, maybe not the last.) I'd love to take a picture to post here, but when I moved everything from my old double wallet to this one, it was about 60% thicker than the old one. Not filled, but empty. For example, this fully loaded wallet was a little over twice the thickness of my old, completely empty wallet. The first image below shows the contents of my wallet as I write this; seven bills, ten cards (one for my driver's license that I forgot to pull out) and a spare house key. It's only slightly thicker than a deck of cards (see picture). I still have moments when I can't find my wallet and then I realize it's in my pocket and I just didn't realize it because it's so much smaller than before. If I could deduct half a star, I probably would. So for two reasons. First, I would like the wallet to be about a quarter inch taller just to make the bill slot look cleaner. However, when the bills are correctly inserted into the slot, only the tips are visible. But it takes time, and nine times out of ten, when you're putting your bills in your wallet after getting change somewhere in the register, you don't want to stand there to "put your bills in the right place". Just a quarter inch or so would have been nice to make it a little easier to keep clean. (Yes, it's a very picky item, so I'm only deducting half a star for that.) Another reason is the packaging. I'm all for pretty packaging, but it's kinda too much. As far as I remember, the wallet itself was wrapped in tissue paper that was in a plastic bag, in a box, that was in a plastic bag, that was in a cloth bag. (Maybe the cloth sack was in its own plastic bag - can't remember exactly - but if so it was most likely Revane's handwork and nothing else, but the ISTR comprised six separate bags.) Nice that you want it to be presentable, but tissue paper and a box or cloth bag would suffice. Otherwise, however, this is a fantastic wallet. I was a little apprehensive about entrusting my cards to a single card slot *outside* and what sounded like a useless pull tab slot, but the cards stay in place with no issues. And it's not so crowded that it's impossible to get tickets. This is a really darn good wallet and when this wears out I will be back to buy another one.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
