Review on 🌈 LIFX Color 800Lm Edison Screw: Brilliant Smart Lighting for a Vibrant Ambiance by Srinivas Johnson

Baffled by the negative reviews

I've just bought two multi colored Mini LIFX bulbs - my third LIFX purchase to date (doubt it will be the last). I bought a regular LIFX Multicolor build (big 1100 lumens) from Revain and a refurbished Beam (direct from LIFX) when I found myself in the nest just after lockdown began last spring. I am very satisfied with both items. Ray in particular is incredible. I use both in my living room to great effect. I bought two minis for the bedroom. They work as expected and look fantastic. Colors are definitely more saturated than the 1100 lumen version. Not sure if it's because they use superior LEDs in the new batch, but they can be amazingly bright when I want them to. It wasn't easy to set up, but I wouldn't call it particularly difficult. Since then I do not have problems anymore. I can turn off the lights manually if I want and they come back on immediately. Another note: LIFX has changed the packaging design. They now come in a regular box (not a fancy top hat). A clear cost-cutting measure. I was initially skeptical about the packaging change, which made me skeptical as to whether these were genuine LIFX bulbs or fake. Then I noticed that the square carton packs were featured at the top of the LIFX website (a smart choice branding wise). I don't use Alexa or Google, I set them up in Apple HomeKit. The integration with HomeKit isn't seamless, but I believe that's due to the limitations of the HomeKit app. So I don't really care about the HomeKit app; The LIFX app works very well and is a much better user interface for this purpose. Despite this issue, Light works well with Siri (as far as Siri works well for everything).

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
