The most important thing is to know what you are buying. This dish is heavy! It's like a solid rock, an inch and a half thick. This is not cast resin which is very light weight and is used to make many reptile paraphernalia. Luckily, Hard Rock is exactly what I wanted. All of my pigs tend to knock over their water bowl right away, so I prefer to use a heavy bowl for them. Size: Image shows a 40 gallon western style Hognose bioactive enclosure (plants are still growing inside). This dish fills a decent chunk of the corner of that 40 gallon. I would recommend getting this plate before designing your rig so you can work with the dimensions. It's the perfect size for my 350g wife to suck up. It can definitely accommodate a small forage fish in a garter. Cleaning: It's heavy and rocky so very textured. I clean it with a reptile and twilight brush. I don't think these qualities are bad, it's just something you'll be happy to come across if you like heavy reptile materials. Appearance: This looks great, the "painting" or marbling or whatever they did is great and blends in beautifully. I think it would look great in any vivarium. Added bonus - isopods love it!
