Bolt too long for many applications. I tried to use this to extend two different hitch mounted bike racks. The deadbolt fits perfectly through the extension but leaves over an inch of deadbolt exposed in front of the lock. All of this is as safe as cutting a 1/4 inch bolt with a hacksaw. Other hitch locks I've used shorten the distance to the holder so much that it would be very difficult to install a cutter there. The lock is also pretty flimsy, it's just to prevent a quick snatch and grab.
