These towels absorb water or other liquids. Even after a dozen trips to the washer/dryer to get the "new" out of them, they still leave water behind. We expected this from blacks as heavily colored fabrics don't dry well. But we're genuinely surprised that white towels leave so much water drying countertops, washing dishes out of the dishwasher, and wiping down the sink (so cats don't leave paw prints all over the place after parking in the kitchen sink). ). They leave some moisture behind after drying, even if you start with a fresh white towel from the tumble dryer. Nice and fluffy good quality towels that just don't dry well. There are towels for that.
