I have been riding exercise bikes for many years but have never bought shoes. I just left my regular running shoes and used cages on the pedals. But as part of my recovery from recent foot surgery, the doctor told me to wear cycling shoes to get back into rotation sooner rather than later. But the main reason I put off buying shoes all these years was because I hated the way they looked (velcro, ear clips, and weird colors). Then I found these Tommaso Milano shoes and they looked very cool - like normal tennis shoes. I especially like that they are lace up and have a cleat hole to wear as running shoes when not cycling. In terms of fit, they are more snug and I took a previous reviewer's advice and ordered a size up from my usual shoe size. If I took my normal size I think they would be too tight, but the plus size was perfect (if you only wear them for cycling they probably won't stretch or loosen much). Overall I'm very happy with them and glad I waited until they arrived to get my first pair of cycling shoes.
