Review on πŸ”΅ DuraGo BR54107 Front Vented Brake Rotor with Integrated Hub Bearing by Mike Kies

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money. I will buy again.

This is not my first choice for repair and replacement parts, but it was my best option. I had a shop replace the rotors and pads on all four corners of my truck and the shop replaced my hub and disc with a universal rotor. All he had to do was change the disc and pads and leave my hubs alone. So I paid him more to replace everything and he ran off with my wheel hubs (priced at $80 a corner). He torqued the bushing nut to maybe 1,000,000 ft/lbs of torque because I put a torch and 3 foot breaker on it to remove the nut. Why? This high torque damaged the 'new bearings' and I had bearing issues less than 6 months after the replacement. I'm not kidding, the skates fell out of the race like a baseball bat to your teeth. I replaced the bearings at my local auto parts store (cost $60). Then the passenger side started rattling. and I haven't even touched that side. Long story short, this rotor came with a hub, disc, and bearing, all for under $80. So (not to mention the quality of the bearings), the rotor and hub cost about $20. It may not be the best quality, but it seems to be the best value for money, at least to get the vehicle back in safe working order. I've been riding this rotor for about a month and haven't had any issues with it or the bearings. So remember, there's no reason to drag anything. If you need to heat a nut as well as 1/2 inch tools and a 3 foot pry bar, that torque has already done some damage. I don't know why, we call them "average business" and "professionals don't get it". Excessive or uneven tightening is BAD. The mechanic also overtightened all the lug nuts on all my wheels including the wheel locks and destroyed a bunch of my 3/8 inch tools. Yes, I will no longer deal with this PROFESSIONAL. But like I said, it's worth it.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
