These speakers have every chance of being great. Output power, variety of inputs (2 optical!), easy setup. But the performance is just below the socket. You are loud enough. But the sound is incredibly muddy. There is almost no separation between the instruments, and the factory levels sound so far off that it just sounds bad. To get anything even remotely balanced, I had to crank the bass all the way up and boost the treble by 2 clicks (out of 7). I tested YU6 in different genres. I used high quality recordings and bitrates of 320 kbps. The connection was made using a new optical cable, so there were no problems with interference. Here is the tracklist: Hypnotize - Notorious BIGSomeone Like You - AdeleQueen of California - John MayerSend My Love (to your new lover) - AdeleParadise Circus - Massive AttackCello Suite #1 - BachBubble Toes - Jack Johnson Also tested with 4k TV (optical audio) with similar results. I give them a few days to warm up and process. But if impression stays the same I will return them and buy Audioengine instead.
