I originally used my phone to play my roms but wanted something physical to feel the buttons and wasn't willing to spend more than 100 to shell out. This little one - about half the size of the original Game Boy - is pretty cool. I really wanted it to be for Gameboy and SNES and this guy is great at directing them! I had some trouble running one of the Sega ports and the PS1 ROMs worked absolutely horribly, don't buy this for the PS1 emulation. Sega things were a godsend and even some of the preloaded roms for GB, GBC, GBA, NES and SNES were pretty messed up and wouldn't load but luckily for me they weren't games, I was too clingy too, except clayfighters, but i have my own rom on my computer which works much better and i can try to install it later. The last two issues: It runs HOT, feels very HOT when running some GBA games and PS1 games. I had to do this a few times because it was just awkward. But all of the systems I mentioned earlier that I wanted it for - GB, GBC, NES and SNES minus the GBA - never got hot enough to annoy me. Speakers of this type hit or miss when they work great, but every once in a while the sound just cuts out or starts very high. I got around this by tapping the speaker and after a few light taps the sound came back into place. There are tons of great games, emulators and even skins to choose from - I haven't tried playing music, videos or pictures because I have a phone for that, but if I do badly I'll update this review. Ouch! Finally the battery isn't great at best, with GB and SNES running the battery is pretty healthy but load up a GBA, Gamegear or PS1 and BOOM! The entire charging process takes about 40 minutes. For the price and what I use it for I'd say it's a pretty good start, all the games I already like come pre-installed and work fine. It's perfect for carrying in your pocket, on the side of your bag, or just by the toilet when you're on the go. I think I'll switch to an Anbernic RG351V in the future just because it looks a bit bigger and more robust, or just wait for my vapor deck to come along, but for now it's a good little portable emulator with some issues but if you're like me and really just want to play some GB, GBC and SNES games while waiting for Nintendo to port them, then yes I would recommend this guy. This transparent edition looks really cool too, I'm glad I chose it over the standard gray version. Before I forget, the system uses rollover "Select and Run" to open the emulator menu while playing on most emulators BUT NOT GBA and GBC emulators! To do this, you have to press the right shoulder button to open the menu and access zoom, quality, save states or exit the app. Just a friendly tip as it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the magazine. If they were to add one extra thing, I would like the Favorites section to highlight the games I play the most because it takes a pain and a half to scroll through hundreds of games on ABC to get to Super Mario Land reach. 2. I have attached some pictures for comparison with some Nendos and my other PDAs and phones. ok i'm done
