Review on Logitech G G920 Driving Force Kit Black by Janis Saikovskis ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expected more from the purchase, but not the worst option.

Prior to that, Momo racing was for many years. simply indestructible, three attachment points, power and pedal wire are disconnected quickly because the outputs are at the back. But too noisy and a small steering angle. Since the fans are expensive, and I'm still not sure that this is very involved in me, and I didn’t want to take a crunchmaster with their bottom quality, I decided to upgrade to the G920. Everything is OK, but the steering wheel out of the box made a squeak when turning the steering wheel to the left + cracked when turning to the right. Epic simple. As a result, it turned out to return it for an exchange and received another G920. Everything is fine here, but both on the defective model and on the replaced one, there is a problem that if you turn the steering wheel to the right when the motors give effort (but there is no auto return) and then abruptly stop the steering wheel with a small return, a knock is heard. And this is definitely a knock of the motor gear and steering gear. I must say right away that if you took it for 17 thousand like me, without a manual transmission - nothing, you can take this steering wheel and use it, it's not bad. But for over 23 thousand - this is real garbage. Well, logitech, make a belt drive and a price of 30 k. But how much can these gears be made already? Unfortunately, the choice of rudders on the market is not in fact. We have what we have. Yes, by the way, so that the steering wheel does not drive - it is necessary to put rubber pads between the clamp and the table - it is already tightly holding. Why was it impossible to make a rubberized clamping mechanism or make a rubber one on the very base of the legs from below? But something tells me that somehow I will order for myself the simplest bundle of fanatic elites with two pedals. Kind of like 45 with delivery. But after the year 20, the limits on purchases are reduced . so. The result is obsolete steering wheel technology, lack of quality bar, dibly cable management, two fastening points with smooth plastic, tapping in the steering wheel as a drawback of the gear system itself. If someone tells you that everything is quiet and there is nothing - do not believe it, extraneous sounds in the steering wheel are the inevitability of the mechanism itself. At a price of up to 18, a maximum can be recommended, above 20, and so on. not anymore.

Pros
  • - there are no competitors in the price up to 20 thousand. - in general, everything is fine. - leather steering wheel - comfortable ergonomics of the buttons, quiet pressing - good pedals - runs quieter compared to previous generations, in particular G25, momo racing - the pedal block keeps well on the laminate, does not slip - good feedback, in the Grid series it is generally very interesting to ride, the effects are transmitted quite well. in the minuses there is not enough space, so I am writing here - it's creepy . no, it's TERRIBLY hard brake pedal. If you think it's normal or it's a feature. No it's not a feature and it's not normal. Remove the cover of the pedal block, unscrew the support mechanism from the pedal and take out the damn rubber gasket where the spring is (2 cm high) and now everything is fine. Which again suggests that by default this is done for cockpits, where pro racers complain about soft brakes. If you have this rubber band, you will NEVER be able to brake properly if the block is on the floor. Either you leave on the chair back, or block forward. So take it out. But in your cockpits, the pedals are screwed to the frame and there you can already at least press this brake to the point of foolishness . But Logitech got screwed up here too, because You have to disassemble the pedal block. Do not worry about the warranty, there are no marks there, there will be no bright traces of screws, there are no warranty stickers either. Open and take out this hat. And even after that, the brake pedal will be the most rigid, since the spring there is the most rigid of all.
Cons
  • everything is as usual with the logitech: - gear. Lord, when will there be a belt drive? Although the price is up to 250 euros - I agree. Above - insanity to buy this steering wheel. Technically, there are no problems even with these two motors to put two belts, but this is not necessary for the logitech. - By default, it crawls on the table and does not hold properly. There are only two clamping points. - Because gears - this is an automatic peace of play and tapping with small twitches of the steering wheel. - miserable, just miserable cable management system. This whole design is not designed for ordinary tables, but only for racks, set and forget. For to remove this squalor from the table every time is just tin. After momo racing, where all the outputs were from the end, it was convenient to turn off the pedals and power, then now and now all this is shoved through one place on the bottom, because of this, it is extremely inconvenient to poke every time, and you need to carry the entire structure entirely from the table and back. - the cable of the pedal block in the old Logitech traditions sticks out stupidly almost at the very bottom. hello broken braid of wires after a while. Why can’t it be strengthened there, or let it come out somehow higher so that it doesn’t rub from below? - Lack of overall logitech quality, see comment. - for each game you need to configure it separately, because its default work is a wild star. - Logitech classics - a metal steering wheel and paddles, and inside there is one plastic. No, there is metal there, but read the reviews of how many crack the case where the plate with the motors is screwed. - people, do not buy this steering wheel for more than 18 thousand. Logitech has no concept of gray goods. What for 23, what for 17 you will get the same box with the same manufacturer's warranty. The main thing is that the sticker is transparent on the box. It is impossible to remove it without traces. - I didn’t think that after 15 years from Momo racing (and Momo was really the top for its time) - Logitech is marking time and simply re-releases rubbish. Yes, it got better, but gentlemen, these improvements are ridiculous.
