These panels are awesome! For real. I've replaced four old troffers in the false ceiling so I no longer have bulky mounts with faulty ballasts and dirty looking plastic lens caps and no more having to replace 4ft tube mounts! The most difficult part of the job was removing the old trophies, especially considering their volume and weight. But once that was done, installing the new LED panels was a real pleasure. Can't wait to NOT have a headache with old Troffer fittings! LED panels are on the rise very quickly and they look a lot better than those old fluorescent lights. They're very bright, which is what I wanted for my basement, but consider how much light you really want in your new space, especially if you have low ceilings like mine. My photos show a comparison of the new panel and the old troffer. I chose not to include a dimmer for my configuration, so I can't comment on that. I do like the quick connect wire module though, so I didn't have to use wire nuts. One wish list item I have relates to the cut out in the junction box attached to the back of each panel. I would prefer to run the source cable (Romex) into the box on the edge of the panel as this is how the fluorescent trofers are installed. This will ensure that the existing lengths of wire are sufficient for the new panels. I had to extend some original wires that didn't have enough slack from the previous setup. Although perhaps not all troffers will accept the original wire from the edge. I plan to buy more of these in 2x2 form for the garage.
