Modified and cats love it!

My cats love this Catio! They are Tom boys who lived mostly on the street before we adopted, and now are retired and unfortunately have FIV, and also missing most of their teeth. So they can no longer roam. I was looking for a way that they could safely still be outside when we are not able to walk them with a harness and we found it!I really like this catio option, and they always want to be out in it throughout the day and night! We did make some modifications like one of the other buyer suggested. We covered the perches with outdoor carpet.Covered half the roof with corrugated roofing for the days it rains. We only did half as they like basking in the sun when it’s out!The toggle bolt latch is not built sturdy so we will replace that later. We cut out a hole so it could connect to our tubing we have hooked to out pet door.A few things I didn’t care for. I didn’t like that some of the pieces were not predrilled. Increases chances for bridging.I also don’t like the treated lumber as it was easy to wipe off and therefore get on the cats fur that they eventually like lick to clean. (One reason we covered perches).I spent roughly 50$ on the additional materials to modify for our babies! To me, it’s worth the price and little freedom my babies get!
