My husband and I put this together in about 2-3 hours. It's pretty lightweight and I thought the assembly was easy and simple. I did not add the roof as mine sits under a covered patio so I purchased some of the wire mesh and tacked it down. I really like the catio for my cat. I put primer and primer paint on the catio so it would last a long time. We have a lot rain and humidity. Each section of the catio has a letter labeled on the wood to identify each part, before I painted it I took a piece of paper and string and tied to the wire on each section of catio part so I will know what it is before I painted it. This cat house was easy to put together mostly because it has pre-drilled holes where the panels fit together. I bought this for swamper iguana.smaller type of iguana. This allows them to spend day and night outside and is sturdy enough to hold them. Some modifications were needed.the bottom had to add wire.and I didn't need the half dozen shelves although I did use three. They have protection from rain and such with the roof and they climb around it and enjoy the size .it was the perfect choice for a medium sized iguana species.

So first of all there was a defect where one on of the shelves should go. The holes were misaligned so we ended up having to create one ourselves which made a crack in the corner. Second, the item is said to be 71 inches in height but that's also wrong.
