Western Digital has never let me down. When I buy a mechanical turntable, I don't even think about anyone else. Over the years I have had many WD drives of varying capacities and have never had a single failure. I bought a WD Black 2TB model to replace an almost full WD Blue 1TB. My startup drive is a Samsung SSD (which I will eventually replace with a WD NVME drive) and I use the mechanical drive to back up my RAW photos and store all my PC games. The blue disk he replaced lasted 6 years and still worked. I expect this Black Drive to perform as well, if not better. Since this is a 7200 RPM drive, I've found that game load times are slightly better than the old 5000 RPM Blue drive. It's not very noticeable, but there's definitely an improvement. I don't test my drives because it seems silly to me, but I'm sure they read and write just as fast, and that's what they advertise. As I said, mine is mainly for backup and gaming, so more than adequate for my purposes. I'll update my post if I ever run into any problems, but I don't expect to.
