Performance was outside of specs after 7 1/2 months, about a month after I moved over 140GB of movies, music, games, photos and software to some storage space one of them to release my old drives (Seagate) which still work great. everything lost in 12 years of movies, music, games, photos and software. I will never buy a WD HDD again.

After three drives and three failures, I gave up trying to get WD to fix the black 2T drive issue. All three drives squeaked (like bad brakes) when the computer was turned off. WD support initially said this was normal and then switched to stating that this was totally unacceptable. Revain did a great job returning failed drives, but despite many calls, WD couldn't decide what to do and how to remove the drive without a fuss. So far so good. It arrived safe and sound, despite Amazon's best efforts to ship without additional padding. The empty carton was in a plastic sleeve with no padding. I was a little surprised there wasn't a mark on the box, but I haven't bought an internal hard drive in a long time, so maybe that's ok. I checked the drive and after a few hours everything was fine.
