The battery life on this model is vastly improved compared to the typical 4xAAA I've seen and had before. The LED is warmer than most, which I think is a bit nicer. Good light diffusion. I use it for kitchen cabinets and it illuminates the full depth of the cabinet inside. Tip: Point the LED part INSIDE so it doesn't shine into your eyes and bounce the light back. Tip 2: This one doesn't use magnets to secure the base and device like most do. It's REALLY falling apart. You just slide it to the left and the base stays attached and the device with batteries detaches. Very easy to attach/detach and may or may not be more impact resistant. AA batteries typically have a capacity of 2400 mAh each, compared to 800 typical AAA batteries. is a definite winner in my book in exchange for a slightly thicker profile.
