I was looking for something to light up my stairs (dark at night and dark during the day). I put the batteries in, taped them to the wall, and immediately the light coming up my stairs came on. I put the 3rd battery under the sink to get some light as it gets pitch dark even at night. 👍 I have no problems with brightness or motion lag.

These lights are perfect for my application. Bright, motion sensors work great. I had to place my lamps on the carpeted staircase. The mounting plate was not ribbed enough to facilitate assembly and I had to go to a hardware store to get longer screws due to the thickness of the carpet. If I needed lighting on wood or any other hard surface, the whole project would be easier than baking a cake. Great design!

My only issue with these lights is the motion sensor. They have to be about a foot away for them to light up. I have them on the stairs and I expected them to detect movement 3-4 feet away like my last ones. I can adjust their position to see if that helps. I like that they have AA batteries (not size C) and look good when lit - bright enough. The tape that comes with it is also excellent. good business.

We have fitted them (with 3M velcro) to the landings of our stairs and they are great. With small children around and no carpeted stairs, we needed lamps that would fit in landings but illuminate the stairs from both sides without blinding anyone on the stairs. It was ideal shapes and brightness. And they're tough - they've been knocked down the stairs a few times by crazy boys and their toys and they came through unscathed. After trying a few lights they have the brightest white light good for my stairs. Motion detection is not very good. They must be very close and it must be very dark. The screws on this product are terrible, they broke when using a screwdriver. I placed them under the railing and they light up the entire step from edge to edge. The battery life on this model is vastly improved compared to the typical 4xAAA I've seen and had before. The LED is warmer than most, which I think is a bit nicer. Good light diffusion. I use it for kitchen cabinets and it illuminates the full depth of the cabinet inside. Tip: Point the LED part INSIDE so it doesn't shine into your eyes and bounce the light back. I simply placed them (without attachment) along the ledge to light the way for my husband, who can't see well at night. He loves her! Great! We've only had them 3 days so can't speak to reliability (yet), but it's an inexpensive fix to a common problem. In our case, the task was to illuminate the stairs to the upper floor: light is only needed early in the morning or at night and only when we are out and about. Chosen based on reviews. They had to enter a closet, technically a storage room under the stairs, about 7ft x 7ft and 8ft high. The problem with these LEDs is that they are very directional and scatter little or no light. They were initially set up at about 4 feet and when turned on all the light was directed downwards with very little light on the opposite side.
