After trying a few lights they have the brightest white light good for my stairs. Motion detection is not very good. They must be very close and it must be very dark. The screws on this product are terrible, they broke when using a screwdriver. I placed them under the railing and they light up the entire step from edge to edge. The key to these lights is to place them higher on the stair to illuminate more of the stair space. I wish it was better with motion detection but what drew me in was the white light in this product. I had lamps with a blue tint that cast a shadow on the dark floor. Which can cause you to miss a rung on the stairs.
