Review on Enhanced Kidde Nighthawk Carbon Monoxide Detector: AC-Plug-In with Battery Backup and Digital Display by Paul Freeman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Has a retractable plug. I'm still alive, so it works. Read the user manual before complaining about it.

I have read many bad reviews based on incorrect information. As soon as I opened it, I checked the date of manufacture, which I advise you to do. I bought it in October 2016. Production date was July 2016. You can't expect more. Make sure to check when you get yours, but it looks like Revain has fixed the old item shipping issue. Another big issue I read was people saying the alarm wouldn't go off if they had a reading. You obviously haven't read the instructions. ALL home CO detectors have a pre-alarm delay. The manual is clear on this. He divides it into different groups based on how quickly it triggers the alarm, based on how many readings it gets. This prevents alarms and annoyance from a little reading of something like a cigarette or a quick opening of the oven door. I have a battery problem to report. I use a wall plug but people have still complained that it drains the battery. Now let's get to my review. I like that it can be installed in different ways. If you want to plug it directly into the wall, you can do so. The plug is removable and there is a cord to allow you to hang it on the wall remotely from an outlet (hardware included). The fork can be rotated, so if you have a horizontal fork you can hang it vertically. It's quite large but only covers one slot when inserted into the bottom slot. I love that it has a screen and stores CO peaks so you know if CO is going into areas where it shouldn't be. I haven't had any issues with it yet and assume it works because I haven't died yet. I'll update in a few weeks if I find out if there's a battery drain issue. Supplied with battery and mounting hardware for hanging the battery.
