Review on GTMOTOR AFM RA003: The Ultimate Fuel Management Disabler for GM Vehicles by Roberto Garrido

Simple/Simple/Works [update edited 11/4/20]

Just arrived this morning so this is a 'Day 1' review. Plugged in the unit and took the pickup on a 30 minute cruise which I know will attempt to switch to V4 mode in a variety of conditions. No problem, it stayed in V8 mode 100% of the time. Simple instructions / no-frills packaging on arrival. I bought mainly to get rid of that annoying flutter/stutter when my 2010 Silverado switches from V4 mode back to V8 mode. If it helps with oil consumption, as some have mentioned, a bonus. I'm not worried if it has a minimal impact on fuel economy. I used to have a range mark in another pickup that worked fine but forgot to pull it out of the diagnostic connector when I sold it. I thought I would save about $60 and buy this brand. The Range's LED headlights annoyed me (at night), as did the headlights on this one, so I taped the headlights with a piece of tape at the end so they couldn't be seen. If my experience with it changes I will come back and update this review. Pieces because it fell apart when I took it out of the diagnostic port. I unplugged the unit while it was plugged in and the cover/front of the case detached leaving the connector and circuit board in the diagnostic port. Not cool, could easily damage the board if I'm not careful. Snapped these 2 pcs together and you have to be careful holding them when you unplug them or you'll end up with 2 pcs. They have cheap little plastic tabs holding them together (poorly) and after I reassembled them stuck I put them back on and they still worked fine. Just watch where you are when you turn it off.
