Review on πŸ’» Corsair K83 Wireless Keyboard: Versatile Bluetooth & USB Connectivity for PC, Smart TV, and Streaming Box - Enhanced Backlit LED by Bohyun Hansen

Great concept, terrible touchpad.

K83 I have about a week and will return it. The actual buttons are good, the materials are great, but the "precise touchpad" is far from accurate. Mine may be broken, but two finger scrolling (with default settings) is terrible on Windows 10. Maybe 10% of the scrolls don't register, which is annoying, but about 5% of the time they register, but the system sends the mouse cursor to the very edge of the screen. But even if the touchpad is simply flawed, the actual design is rather imperfect due to the placement of the physical mouse buttons. The touchpad is round (which seems pointless?), but the result is that the buttons are about 5mm lower than my thumb would like. I use the MBP touchpad all day and bought this keyboard to replace a much thinner Logitech keyboard and both have significantly better ergonomics. Overall, about 90% of this device is great, but the last 10% (touchpad) just breaks the deal. For a wireless keyboard this expensive, there really needs to be a touchpad that isn't too terrible to use. It's a shame I have to go back to my cheaper (but more convenient) Logitech.

Pros
  • Elegant Design
Cons
  • Vulgarity
