Works well, hygienic and compostable!

I've been using these sponges for a little over a year and I'm not going to stop. I've read time and time again how unhygienic traditional sponges are because they never dry out completely, which causes me to throw the sponge away a lot but also makes me feel like I'm a wasteful idiot. I decided to try them as they are compostable. I wasn't sure at first - it was a bit rough on my hands and as others have mentioned they get stuck in the fibers when you deal with a lot of "food brushing". However, the sponge softens pretty quickly, and I came up with a process that works for me (first use a dish brush to clean food, put dish soap on the sponge, and then wash). After you finish and hang the sponge, it dries very quickly and never gives off a bad smell. They don't last forever, mine last about 3 months before falling apart (which is still considerably longer than regular sponges lasted for me). My only complaint is that my second order of sponges is slightly different than my first, my first batch had a different tag and hanging loop - I've included photos of different sponges. I prefer the feel of the first batch as it was a bit softer. Other than that, I'm still happy enough with the new batch to keep using it.
