If the fender could go under the fork and over the front wheel another 6-8 inches then that would be one of the best things. I have ever bought for my bike. I ride every day, year round, and this thing never comes off my bike. It is not necessary. I'm against metal fenders and love my two plastic SKS clips (I have the rear one too). The ONLY downside to this product is that without the fender over the tire I get wet at high speeds. wet streets. For example, I run my hand over the front of the tire to stop the constant flow of water into my eyes and face. I once taped a piece of cardboard to this fender to try and seal the spot and it was perfect, but it only took one ride. So an extension would make it a better product. But it's fantastic the way it is.
