If the fender could go under the fork and over the front wheel another 6-8 inches then that would be one of the best things. I have ever bought for my bike. I ride every day, year round, and this thing never comes off my bike. It is not necessary. I'm against metal fenders and love my two plastic SKS clips (I have the rear one too). The ONLY downside to this product is that without the fender over the tire I get wet at high speeds. wet streets. For example, I run my hand over the front of theโ€ฆ

1974 Kabuki Skyway - (cut and re-drilled)

I installed this on the front fork of my 1974 Kabuki Skyway. Installation was easy, but I didn't like the placement of the stem. the bottom end stuck out too far so my toe touched the wing when turning. I unscrewed the lower support arm that attaches to the frame. I cut it to the right length and drilled a new hole. The ground was too close to the tire; I made the spacer using an inch of old bar grip tape wrapped in duct tape. I placed it at the bottom of the product attached to the frame. Iโ€ฆ

Good product. Only 1 very small problem.

Cool thing. I bike to work and although I don't ride my bike to work in the rain, sometimes I have to ride my bike in the rain to get home. Water leaking from my front wheel hits the frame, bursting and splashing straight into the large vents at the top of my shoes. This has completely fixed this problem. My feet still get wet over time, but not as much as before. It fits easily into my carbon fork, sits snugly against the tire, and doesn't "flap" in the wind. I also didn't notice much windโ€ฆ

Good for $20, needs more room to adjust

The fender itself is fine, but due to the angle of my forks (which determines the angle of the fender) it protrudes a bit at the bottom. There are some adjustments to change the fender angle but not enough for my bike. If I want it to be the same distance from the tire I have to cut off a piece of the adjuster arm, drill holes for the new position and reassemble it. Not a terrible amount of work, but I wish there were some extra customization built in. I have 700 x 28 tires and although theyโ€ฆ

Great protection for a road bike!

I'm cycling a lot more than I used to because of the pandemic. I took the SKS front fender because I didn't want to miss a ride just because the roads might be wet or a little rain. The installation takes about 90 seconds. The spacers are attached to the front fork with two rubber bands. They're incredibly easy to put on and take off, yet stay in place while you ride. The fender can be adjusted 5-10 degrees to accommodate different fork angles. Once the wing is installed and adjusted, it staysโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Outstanding overall performance
Cons
  • Clarity

Considering the actual performance of this fender I think it's a bit overpriced. I consider this a worthy option AFTER a thunderstorm or in very light rain, but no more. Impressions: 1. Your fork is really going to play a big part in how well this fender fits as it lacks the adjustability. If you have a flared fork like mine, you can't get the wing tip any closer to the fork no matter how much you play with it. If your fork profile is narrower you might be able to handle it better, but keepโ€ฆ
