Crocs tend to run small. With a bow at the back, they are very small, so you lose almost the full size. I bought 8 black/red on sale but can't use hinges because it's like 7.5. As an 8, it's still a bit small, but good. The floor is covered in pebbles which I don't like so I have a full Dr. Scholl insert inserted to solve this problem. But for house/yard it's great. As for the "brightness" factor, I believe that's your own taste. I personally like the bright pink accent.
