I was struck by the simplicity and elegance of this handle and spout combination. Comfortable and safe to hold. I put it in the top rack of the dishwasher on a regular cycle (no sanitize, advanced, or super hot cycle) and was surprised to find regular hot water affecting the hinge portion of the molded case top. This raised the upper valve slightly and failed to return to a securely closed position under tension. The device can be easily disassembled. I heated some water in a cup and put the loop in the hot water for about 60 seconds to heat it up and maybe soften it. I gently pressed the top cap, holding it for about a minute, and managed to adjust the flex in the hinge just enough to give it enough spring to hold the lid closed under tension.
