I had a nice key ring in my desk drawer and the only problem was that the key loop was broken. Bought this case hoping to fix it. When he arrived I got everything done in about five minutes. I ended up having to buy a battery, but the inside of my old key fob fit easily into the new key fob. You may need a toothpick or something small and flimsy to pry out the old innards and insert into the new keychain. My other suggestion is to transfer the rubber buttons labeled "Lock/Unlock" to a new key fob. I found the new buttons to be too stiff and unforgiving, and made it harder to lock or unlock the car. That being said, having a new working key fob was an ideal and affordable option.
