Inexpensive but requires TLC to work.

I installed this unit on my boat a little over a year ago and have used it to run electronics, power tools and other equipment throughout. The extended display panel was a feature I really appreciate at this price point. The device is almost noiseless in operation and works together with the electronics without any problems. However, if it is at full capacity, it will most likely fail soon. On the plus side, it's easy to fix. I would like to point out that I use this unit in a humid marine environment (it was not designed for these conditions) and often get insufficient DC power for the loads I am driving from the unit. The main disadvantage of this unit is the lack of an easily accessible fuse or circuit breaker to replace/reset in the event of an overload, instead there are 6 replaceable automotive blade fuses that need to be checked and replaced if the unit does not turn on. The top case can be easily removed (loosen top end screws on each side and lift the top of the main body) and the 6 fuses can also be checked/replaced. In one case I had to remove the entire circuit board and fix the burnt part of the circuit board with one piece copper wire. I also had to re-solder the 120v output wires to the board. All of these repairs were fairly easy and the actual electronic components appear to be of good quality. The unit mainly suffers from poor assembly and the use of cheap fuses that are mounted directly on the circuit board and have to be disassembled to be replaced.
