The best fly swatter I have ever used

Yes, it's a bit expensive for a fly swatter. This is definitely a first world purchase. But it is made of good quality thick leather, with an oak handle firmly riveted. You can see it break if you accidentally smack the handle on the edge of a table or something else while blocking a fly with enough force. You never know where those pesky flies will land, and you should use your options when they do appear. Sometimes things happen on their own. My skin felt a bit dry at first, so I rubbed it with a generous dose of mink oil (had it on hand for my boots) before using it for the first time. I left the mink oil on for a few days and wiped off the excess and it became nice and supple. I've had it for almost a year now and have been fine ever since. I also sprayed a few coats of clear coat on the handle to seal it in and give it a richer texture. (That's something, isn't it? I'm worried about how the grain looks on the handle of a damn fly swatter? I have all my real problems to fix.) However, the lacquer adorned it beautifully. Works really well, feels good in the hand and is a pleasure to use even if you miss a fly knowing you are missing a well made, quality fly swatter. 100% would buy again and I was thinking of gifting them but I would order them ahead of time and coat them with mink oil and varnish before gifting them just to add some softness to the leather and decorate the handle.
