great lightbulbs! Full daylight!

Received a 3 card deck for my playroom as we play A LOT of cards there. Let me tell you that these suction cups put out some serious light and since the wattage is so low I can turn on a couple of ceiling fans with chandelier adapters. I turn on the light in the playroom and the sun seems to come out. No one has trouble reading maps. Actually we started with 3 of these and had to fall back on 2 because they were TOO bright with 3 in a room :)

Fairly inexpensive and works well

Let me start by saying I'm an amateur photographer with a basic home portrait studio. Before these lamps I had $26 perfect square lamps until they started to dim. I also bought a studio version of this cowboy lightbulb. Needless to say, both, especially this one, worked great. It worked just as well as my old $26 bulb when it was new and even brighter than my cheaper Cowboy Studio bulb. The look and feel in your hands speaks for itself of high quality and I would recommend it to anyone looking…

but as far as I can tell, this pear makes a very strong impression.

What to write about a lightbulb? I'm not a professional photographer but as far as I can tell this lamp puts out a very nice white light that helps my photos look better. I first tried using a regular non-photographic lightbulb that I bought from Home Depot, but the pictures I took with the standard lightbulb showed a haze of yellow. For this reason I think it was wise of me to buy this lamp because it makes my photos look better and saves me a lot of time fixing lighting issues with software…

Fairly bright, stable temperature

I bought this lamp because I needed several lamps for use in fixed light photography. I bought this one because it's 5500K and it's supposed to be stable. In my own testing, I've found that the temperature and brightness remain stable after you've given it about 5 minutes to warm up (I took a series of 1/200s shots in burst mode and measured the temperature of the light in each frame checked for testing ). After about 5 minutes, the brightness stabilizes, as does the temperature. Most CFLs vary

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. They sent a 25W bulb.

I bought and received an item that said it was 45w and the wattage will be similar to a 200w bulb as stated on the packaging. After leaving this plugged into a lightbulb rated up to 125W, the lightbulb will only consume 25W. See image. Even though the light appears to be around 5500K as advertised, the brightness isn't up to scratch. I have to return it. It's not cheap for a lightbulb. If I'm paying for something that's advertised to be at a certain level, I want to get what I'm paying good…

Green Tint on CFLs

I bought one of these lamps, a $25 Kino Flo lamp and photographed the same setup/color chart + gray cards lit solely by each bulb, then with flash and then at Daylight. . All in all, ePhoto's lightbulb rally is strikingly green. Technically, to achieve a neutral gray I had to remove not only the green, but also some red and yellow. I've also noticed that although ePhoto is listed as 45W and Kino-Flo as 26W, the actual wattage is very similar. If these bulbs are going to be your only light…

Great light to start with:

I recently purchased this lamp to use with an Adorama socket with stand adapter and umbrella holder and it works great. The lamp is a bit big but I knew it was going to happen. I've already purchased the CowboyStudio NPT-04 Trigger/Receiver System, a 4-channel wireless hot shoe receiver for off-camera flash, but I also wanted to try a "constant light source". "Alternatively, we chose this lamp. With my shade, this lamp has the power to produce the light I need without overproducing the…

Wasted effort for me

To me they just don't serve their intended purpose. I'm not the type to go too hard most of the time, but this is one of those items that doesn't live up to its advertised specs. I bought one of these bulbs last July and set it aside unopened for testing. in a future project where I need constant illuminance and a sufficiently bright light source - with an explicitly stated "daylight" temperature of 5500K. The intent was to use a mix of fluorescent and constant bulbs, with no color shifts or…
