I usually use another well-known brand socket tester, but I chose this tester because it has an additional voltage display function. I've recently completed a lot of electrical work and had to test a lot of outlets. I started using this tester and everything was fine for the first few sockets. (A well-wired outlet will indicate that the first 2 of 3 lights are lit on the tester. Any other configuration and the outlet is miswired.)
