Review on Men's Dakine Titan Gore-Tex Snow Gloves - Must-Have Accessories for Winter by Jeff Callier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best glove box I've ever had

The waterproof Gore-Tex shell is amazing and I find it warm enough on its own to use at 32F. liners? Hate it. Outwardly it looks nice and works on touchscreens, however. 1) If these earbuds offer any isolation, and I am skeptical about it, it is very minimal. I tried using them on my car with a 32F cab. Worse than not wearing them in my opinion as without them I can at least rub my fingers and clench my fists to keep them warm. 2) When using the inner shoe in the outer shell: 2a) the inner seams are a little uncomfortable, when wearing the inner shoe itself, it becomes very uncomfortable 2b) the length of the fingers of the inner shoe "large" does not match the length of my middle finger very well, hence I find myself very far from outer shell tips when I combine the two (webbed effect). However, the "large" outer shell is the perfect size for me. I still give a good rating because I wanted a good case first and did a lot of research beforehand. It's almost as good as without the leather, which I'm too lazy to care for. I ended up buying Minus33 merino wool inserts to use as glove liners. They're also very warm on their own, but don't seem particularly hard-wearing. Just by opening the package, a fair amount of loose threads were cut off. However, they fit perfectly in a titanium glove and my hand has never felt so hot in a glove. I'll try to update this when I get into really cold weather but I suspect it will be at 0F and hopefully lower. Although finding them is not easy. Also, the North Face lining is polyester, which I suspect isn't as warm and moisture-wicking as merino wool. But they should be much more durable.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
