A few times we got roasted in our 5th wheel in places that had no shade and faced the sun directly. This carefree shade solved the problem and more. First, a drop of 8 feet was enough to place the umbrella close enough to the ground for it to be anchored easily. The zip extension was a great addition. Due to the height of our canopy, we would need a ladder to fit the shade into the slots. With the extension permanently installed in the tent, we were able to reach in the shade and zip up. Perfect! I would recommend buying better mounts. It comes with simple plastic pegs. They are a) difficult to get into the ground and b) don't adhere well. No hammer required and they hold up well. Also, we always use Camco awning stabilizers when it's windy. By the way, our awning is Dometic, but Carefree fits perfectly.
