Redesigning our vintage vanity tops

Wanting to update our 80's bathrooms on a budget, I used this contact paper to cover up old, faded vanity tops. The color is perfectly warm, with no orange or yellowish undertones, and the grain of the wood looks very realistic. It was also fairly easy to apply to clean, flat surfaces and I didn't get too many blisters. Damaged surfaces were more difficult to cover with a smooth surface, but the grain of the wood hides many flaws. The only problem I noticed after a while was that the paper would lift a bit on the edges of doors and drawers due to regular use. But I didn't heat the contact paper before applying it to the corners/edges like a lot of people do, so that might have caused this problem.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Long lead time
