Much more than other floating breeders.

I've used a few other floating breeders and always wish they were bigger. When I stumbled across this one, which showed the actual internal dimensions, I was impressed. I bought it to try and it was excellent. The suction cups hold up well and there are floating handles for backup. The grid on the bottom protects the kids if they fall and the divider leaves enough room for two fish if you're the right size for the right fish. This is the best floating breeder I have ever tried. The only thing I

The best product!

The product is excellent, it works like magic. For starters, its acrylic won't affect your aquarium, it has a divider to create two sections so it can accommodate two adults. There is a grille that sits about an inch above the bottom of the box. This grid allows the fry to stay on the bottom and away from the adult fish until you can remove the adult fish from the nest. Once you remove the adult fish, everything is removed (partition and grate) to give your juveniles enough space to swim. I…

Timeout tank for Dragonfruit the Terrible

I have two female Bettas and a Pleco in a 15 gallon heated tank with filter. Unlike males, female bettas have to get along with each other. Apparently my purple bantam fish, Dragonfruit, didn't get the note. For the past few months, she has been bullying her aquarium mates, driving them off their food and biting their tails. According to Supernanny, this is "unacceptable behavior". So I bought a dragonfruit-fishy version of the "cheeky step": a time-out aquarium. I carefully drilled a few small

Great design but make sure the fry don't run away

I really like the design of this parent box. I received this box while waiting for my diapers to be delivered and today I found the first kittens. The box was very easy to assemble and I was able to safely transfer the new fry to the breeding box. I watched the fry for about an hour, slowly swimming around the box until they suddenly slipped between the cracks! At first I thought I saw something but then I realized the poor guy was stuck outside and in full view of the other fur seals. After…

The fry swim right through the holes

I ordered a small one but didn't expect it to be very small. It fits in the palm of your hand. Even though it was very small, I still used it and thought it might work. But as soon as I put the roasts in the tiny box, holes formed in the bottom and the roasts just swam out. The holes are big, even eggs fall through them. The lid that goes on top doesn't sit tight when placed flush with the waterline. The lid lifts up and off, allowing the big fish to get in and the fry out. The suction cups…
