I have been using these RLS cuffs for about two years now and enjoy the freedom of being cordless. HOWEVER, these Fit King cuffs don't seem to be durable. The buttons on two separate cuffs have flexed (with normal, cautious use), making them more difficult to use and extremely responsive, turning speeds on or off with the slightest movement. One stopped working and the other started melting while loading. Shortly after I started loading two cuffs, a burning odor was noticed; The one I bought to replace a cuff that died after three months and has worked fine. The one beside him; red hot. I rushed to unplug and my finger actually left a groove where I held it briefly to unplug the cord. An hour has passed and the red battery indicator is still flashing (as it should be while charging) and it's still very hot. I have no doubt that this thing could start a fire if left unattended. This scares me so much I'm going back to pocketable leg cuffs. I can't walk in them, but at least I don't have to constantly replace individual defective cuffs or possibly suffer severe burns. PLUS: • no cables! •cheaper in price (although the price is for one cuff, not a pair, so not a fact) CONS: •shorter in length than wire cuffs, not to mention •incredibly short lifespan •something that hot should be in the oven , not wrapped around my leg.
