This is a great basic system with a few caveats. I've had an internal system using the same batteries for over 2 years and just bought an XT. I like it BUT: notifications are a bit slow and you have to wait for the recording to finish to see them. Solution: I installed the second XT in a different location and angle and disabled the motion sensor. As soon as I get an alert from the active camera, I open the 2nd camera in live mode and see what's happening in real time (1 is recording and the other is live). I personally like this type of backup system, but that's me. The video quality is excellent. The sound is good, but not bidirectional. Still no doorbell, but I wouldn't buy one anyway - too obvious. In general, I am satisfied with the system.
