Review on 🎨 TCP Global Professional HVLP Spray Gun with 1.8mm Fluid Tip, 1L Cup & Air Regulator - High-quality Gravity Feed Sprayer by Johnathan Delgado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Four stars and a word of caution, do not use on water-based paints

I have this sprayer 9 Months . For $40 it's a decent gun, it works well and the spray pattern is good. I also have a Devilbiss Starting Line spray gun kit. What is the difference? The TCP gun contains non-stainless steel parts inside which means it will rust internally if you use this gun to spray WATER BASED paints. Rust, if you don't take good care of it, will cause small patches of rust on the surface of the item being painted and this is a BIG problem, especially with paint colors like white. I just experienced this while assembling and painting a shelf. It was very disappointing. Devilbiss sprayers have stainless steel parts, which means I can fill the bowl reservoir with water-based paint and leave that paint in the gun for days or weeks without worrying about rusting, which comes in handy with Devilbiss for big jobs. Painting work in progress. If you're using a TCP gun, I don't recommend leaving water-based paints or topcoats in the gun overnight - you'll need to clean them regularly to avoid rusting and paint contamination. The description of the TCP sprayer doesn't state the use of water-based paints, so I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. For all OIL based paints the TCP sprayer works well. If you spray water based paints (I use my devilbiss for water based paints, coatings, top coats and all oil based paints, auto finishes etc) spend a little more and get a sprayer designed for this. . like Devilbis.
