Review on Advanced In-Ground Pet Containment System by Victoria Robinson

Blessings to Dog and Human

I was replacing my 14 year old pet guard fence which was great but broke intermittently. 2 English Setters quickly learned to stay within boundaries even without a collar, even in the presence of strong irritants, cats, squirrels, other dogs. PERFECT I like that the alert/correction levels are selectable on the collar. I have set the alert tone/static collar to a very low level. The width of the warning zone (beeps) is also set near the minimum width of about 3 feet on each side of the wire. All of my setters have been nice, accommodating, and non-aggressive, so the minimums work well. Your dog may need stronger or different settings. All in all, an in-ground fence is a wonderful system and a boon for both dog and owner. Unlimited freedom within the boundaries for the dog and the certainty that the dog will not run away and disturb the neighbors for the owner. I'm deducting 1 star just for the fact that you have to use the Pet Safe brand battery. They're cheap enough, but I'd rather buy batteries anywhere. Batteries on the last collar lasted 6 months or more, but my girls pushed themselves to the limit, allowing the collar to "go to sleep" most of the time. With a more assertive dog, battery life may be shorter. Time will tell how long these batteries last. PS Understand that the ground wire is an antenna that transmits a signal to the collar, it carries no appreciable current.
