I purchased this item specifically to try the cake masking technique and I'm really glad you can customize it so easily. I was concerned that if I adjust the diameter for larger cakes the circle might not be perfectly round. But I've never had a problem and have masked a 7" and a 10" cake with ease and the crisp and sharp edges speak for themselves. Don't forget to use the acetate sheets inside the cake ring. Love it, it works so well for larger cakes when used with acetate sheets. Highly recommended for its ease of use and hassle-free cleaning and diameter adjustment.
