I thought those were just for cutting paper?

My twins are four years old now and I am teaching them some skills that they will need when they start school. I realized they should be able to use scissors so I looked here for safe scissors to teach them how to cut paper. I was thrilled when I found these paper cutting scissors and ordered two packs for my twins. Designed for ages three and up, these preschool scissors include safety features such as safety blades and blunt tips, to ensure the safety of the children. learning how to cut paper. The loops on the scissors are large enough so it should be comfortable no matter how you hold it. They are big enough even for my small adult hand. There are two modes with this scissors. First, it's a practice mode and the practice arm is easy to push in so it doesn't cut too far and needs to be opened after each cut to show kids how to use the scissors. In traditional mode, you simply lower the training arm to its lowest position and use the scissors as usual. They are made in China from hard plastic. We received two blue/red scissors which was fine with me. My twins were almost four when I introduced them and were able to use them with ease. It's hard to say what they would have done if I had given them to them a year ago, but they understand how to cut paper easily. I only used training mode with them and the lever didn't work. This wasn't a problem as my kids have the strength and coordination in their hands to open the handles. I wouldn't say the lever actually opens the scissors, at least in my experience, so that's something to think about. I love that my kids are safe learning with them and they have worked well for us so far. The reason I only give these scissors three stars, even though my kids use them with no problem, is that they actually cut more. than just paper, although they shouldn't. I tested it on several small items and found cut through rope, hard plastic and even hair. I pulled out some of my own hair to try it out and in fact they cut it right through. I'm not too keen on it because I was only four years old when I cut my hair with my safety scissors. It happened right before the school photos, so my mom wasn't too happy and I don't want my kids to do the same. I always watch my kids use scissors so I'm not too concerned about that, but after these discoveries I don't feel safe with them. I generally like scissors but am disappointed because they actually cut more than just paper when they're not supposed to. We haven't tried any other training scissors so I'm not sure how they compare. I would say if you are planning to babysit your child at their place this is still a good option. If there is a possibility that your child can use them alone, you should consider other brands, otherwise you may have dolls. who cut their hair. I don't want my kids to do the same. Pros
  • Practice lever opens the blades after each cut to safely teach preschoolers how to open and close scissors
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
