The keyboard is a good clone of the Microsoft keyboard. The back is made of soft fabric and the front is made of hard plastic. The Microsoft keyboard is more aesthetically pleasing, but I think this one will last longer. The buttons really click. I really wish the trackpad was bigger, but I was also thinking of the Microsoft keyboard, so can't fault it. It is not charged, so please charge it before use. And make sure you have a Type-C to USB connector (if you have a Samsung phone, you already have that) as it's easy to charge the keyboard from your Surface. Edit: After using it for a few months I found the trackpad very difficult to Using gestures as it tries to zoom in when I try to scroll. Typing is awkward as the key layout is narrow and I have to type slower so I don't accidentally miss a key. I would sum it up like this: you get what you pay for
