Not for Alexa users - maybe

I have to say I'm pretty angry. I tried many LED strips and finally decided that I found exactly what I was looking for. The Govee 9.8Ft LED Strip Works with Alexa Google Home light should have been rated highly and worked with Alexa. It is not! I'm a tech guru, so I know what I'm doing here. I installed the Govee app, added a device, added the Govee Home skill to Alexa, added a light to Alexa and it says it's not responding. either install. I bought 4 of these sets. Unfortunately I already have one installed. What the heck is there in having them if they can't be controlled with Alexa? DO NOT BUY. UPDATE: I found a way to get these lights to work. Maybe it will be useful to someone.1. Add the Govee Home app and create an account2. Add the Govee Home skill to Alexa3. Go to your phone settings and disable Wi-Fi and background access to the Alexa app and force stop the app. Plug in the LED strip and reset the light by pressing and holding the power button, then quickly press the center button four times. Turn on Bluetooth and location services6. Add an LED strip to the Govee Home app and give it a name. Be sure to use Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz7. Exit the Govee Home app and turn off Bluetooth and location services.8. Go back to your phone settings and enable background mode and WiFi access for the Alexa9 app. Now open the Alexa app and let it find the LED strip.10. Hopefully everything should work now. UPDATE 25/211/2020 The lights have lost their WiFi connection and I can't recover them. I removed them and reinstalled them as above. Nothing. You can't connect every time. Useless garbage.
