We used this carrier to collect our cat from an animal shelter when we adopted her. She can see through easily and has enough space to curl up and lie down. It is ventilated with 8 airflow holes but also has a mesh screen on the front for more airflow. You can lower the outer flap to cover the mesh for shade or whatever if you like, but I leave the outer flap up to allow for adequate airflow. Inside there is a "String?" carabiner to attach them to the collar so they don't pop out when the carrier is opened.
