This REDUCE COLD-1 mug received 5 stars for its beautiful ergonomic design, very comfortable grip, immaculate exterior finish and very innovative 3-in-1 lid. However, I'm deducting 2 stars for the lack of insulation and 1 star for the protruding bottom-to-bottom standing seam on the inside of the cup (the latter doesn't bother me that much). The first thing I always do when I receive an insulated mug or jug is to do a simple test right out of the box. Before removing any decals etc I fill them with ice and water and wait. Received 2 different cups in that order and passed the other with flying colours. Not this one. After 2 minutes the outside of the mug became cold and after 5 minutes condensation (sweat) started to form. This is irrefutable proof that the vacuum between the walls has disappeared and it is a simple, non-insulated, double-walled mug. Totally inefficient at keeping contents neither cold nor hot for long periods of time (the main reason we spend the extra money on an insulated mug). ). Thank goodness for the convenience and free return shipping from Revain via UPS. Which I already did the day after receiving this message. I don't blame the manufacturer for poor quality control, because in mass production everything happens statistically. Since I like the design very much, I gave it a second chance and ordered another one. Now if it fails my test again I will change my mind and write a more negative review.
