Works as described. It's a little smaller than I thought it would be, difficult to handle in thick arthritis hands, but so what? That works great. Now for those complaining about not being able to figure out how to switch from C to F - check out the instructions! That's easy. For those who can't figure out how to change other settings - read the instructions! For those who cannot read in small rooms or in dark places - read the instructions! Just press the hold button and the backlight button. For those who think they have to turn it off after each reading to get another - read the instructions! You don't have to do anything to read from one place to another. And when you turn it off, it resets and you can't go back and get the max and min readings. sooo Read the instructions! It's easy to use. On the one hand, it takes a long time for the temperature reading to stabilize at ambient temperature. I don't know about other users but I bought this thing to measure humidity and the built in thermometer is just an afterthought.
