Review on 🔥 VisionTek XT 120GB USB 3.0 Pocket SSD (901238): High-Speed Read & Write, Bootable, TLC NAND, PS3/PS4 & Xbox Compatible! by Eric Jefferson

I was looking for a very fast flash drive. Numerous studies led me to this product. Never heard of VisionTek before. I saw a Linus Tech Tips video on this particular flash and it's not a regular flash as the description says it's more of a pocket SSD. This is because it actually uses a SATA SSD controller internally! I ordered the 250GB version for $70. Speed: Device comes empty, all zeros flash. I initialized the drive as an MBR partition layout and formatted the whole thing as NTFS using the default options. I also noticed that since Windows 10, 1809 Quick Remove is the new standard for external storage devices. That shows the attached speed test. I downloaded the latest version of foo Crystal Disk Mark (7.0.0) and ran the x64 executable as administrator. The first image has the default profile while the second uses the "Real World" profile. The VisionTek website advertises up to 449MB read, up to 399MB write, when with some synthetic benchmarks I get 455MB/s, 414MB/s read, write, both of which are over! advertised speeds. I also included the AS SSD and ATTO Disk benchmark as they were also used in other tests. I don't know if I can find another pocket drive with better speeds. Or a smaller drive with similar speeds. Physical properties: The device is very durable. The aluminum body is strong enough to comfortably throw or drop over long distances. The USB port is protected by a device-thick, removable rubber plug. There is a green status LED, which is not very bright, to let you know the device is being accessed. Dimensions: 3" and 5/8" long, 7/8" wide and 3/4" deep. Due to the high speed, the device becomes lukewarm. Overall I give this product 5/5 stars because it fits in your pocket, has a large capacity and burns fast. I wish they would release a USB-C version and maybe update the spec to USB 3.2.
